    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[During that initial three weeks, Kenneth had two offices, one in the Triangle Building, and one in the Library of Congress, a research office, with full facilities and the availability of the stacks. That was when he discovered all of the Thai materials that were lying on the floor, uncataloged, just loosely bundled, in the stacks. Hundreds and hundreds of paperback books.     <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Kenneth left the OCI for the BEW in part because the Harvard folks couldn&#039;t get along with him about the Chinese he spoke. Margaret points out that Kenneth spoke the Swatow dialect, Taichu, that was commonly spoken among the diaspora of Chinese in Southeast Asia. Kenneth had this dialect down so perfectly that the Chinese would marvel at him. They hadn&#039;t known any foreigners had lived in Po Leng, where his brand of the dialect came from. The Landons explain Kenneth&#039;s first hand experience learning Chinese and Thai languages by literally living with the native speakers. ]]></dcterms:description>

Prince Damrong wrote a letter to Dr. McDaniel from his exile, and Dr. McDaniel was the one who introduced Margaret to Anna&#039;s books and the royal family.     <dcterms:description><![CDATA[Kenneth and Margaret were awoken one night by a call from the security system office, saying that the alarm had gone off twice (though the Landons couldn&#039;t hear any alarm sound). Kenneth got up, took his weapon, went downstairs and this time he inadvertently caused the alarm to actually go off. The door bell rang and he opened the door. Two police officers were standing there. They toured the house together but found nothing, so they concluded that the system was malfunctioning. ]]></dcterms:description>

    <dcterms:title><![CDATA[Kenneth and Some Friends Caught a Snake]]></dcterms:title>
    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[The area where Kenneth and his family lived was infested with black snakes, and often the kids would find them curled up in their clothes at the river where they used to go swimming. One day one of the children caught a six-foot snake for the Barnum and Bailey circus and were bringing it to town when the creature curled around his arm and up to his neck and began squeezing him.
