Siam: Stories from the War
Subject
The topic of the resource
War
OSS
Description
An account of the resource
Margaret tells of the day they left Phuket and their visit to Phangnga, where there was a cave with a temple inside. Kenneth recalls war stories associated with the area and tells of his visit to one particular island. It was eerie. He tells of his long visit inside the cave, how he got stuck at a dead end on his way out, and spared himself another twelve hours of walking by taking a huge risk of jumping down to where he needed to go. He took many pictures of the cave, especially the cathedral inside. He tells of the US soldiers hiding in this cave during WWII and being perfectly safe from the Japanese. Kenneth had told the OSS about this cave.

Siam: Margaret and Kenneth on Gardening and Palm Trees
Description
An account of the resource
Margaret finally got a good garden book, a great event. She still has it, A Garden Book for Malaya by Kathleen Gough. Margaret now had 120 house plants. There were ferns, amaryllis, lilys, honolulu creepers, bougainvillea, and other small plants. As for the trees, there were cinnamons, guavas, breadfruits, jackfruits, rambutans, durians, etc. Margaret believes most of these trees were planted by Dr. Dunlap.
