    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[When the Japanese invaded Thailand, many Westerners fled. Thomas Byrd, the British Consul General in Chiang Mai at the time, was one of these fleeing. Margaret recalls the story that Byrd was in a car while others were walking, and upon passing a cripple along the road who could not flee, he continued without stopping even though he had room in his car. ]]></dcterms:description>

Beginning on July 20, 1976, recording finished in June, 1978. The project resumed again in 1982 for a few months. After a long break, the third recording period began in 1988 and concluded in March 1989.]]></dcterms:provenance>
