<dcterms:description><![CDATA[Kenneth tells of the scholars on Southeast Asia who built on his work on the region. A man named Skinner, a professor at Cornell, studied The Chinese in Thailand, and came out with his own book on the Chinese in Thailand (Chinese Society in Thailand, 1957). Then a man named Purcell, who was an advisor to the Chinese in the British service in Malaya, wrote a book on the Chinese in Malaya. Subsequently, Purcell decided to put together in one volume all the information available on the Chinese in Southeast Asia, and he included Kenneth's book in a shortened form, which he acknowledged doing (The Chinese in Southeast Asia, 1965). ]]></dcterms:description>
