Date A point or period of time associated with an event in the lifecycle of the resource January 1, 1930 Title A name given to the resource Siam: Mr. Bulkley's Elephant Description An account of the resource Mr Bulkley bought a baby elephant and wanted to ship it to New York to the Museum of National History, where he was a contributor. His wife was traveling on the same ship and he wanted to save the fare of a keeper for the baby elephant. He brought the elephant to his house and had to hire a man to feed the elephant. Margaret and the kids went several times to watch it. He ended up paying quite some money for the all process in order to get the animal on the ship. A cable came from the US saying that there was no sale of elephant in the US at the present time. But the ship had already sailed. Over a course of 13 years Kip Landon (Kenneth Landon Jr.) began recording stories from his parents, Margaret and Kenneth Landon, resulting in 95 hours of recordings. Beginning on July 20, 1976, recording finished in June, 1978. The project resumed again in 1982 for a few months. After a long break, the third recording period began in 1988 and concluded in March 1989.
