Kenneth on Broadcasts in Thai

Kenneth speaks of the Office of War Information that Donovan also set up and for which he made Thai language broadcasts. The original idea for the broadcasts came from the Thai Legation, as early as October, 1941, before the war began. Immediately after Pearl Harbor, the Thai government declared war on Great Britain and the United States. The Thai minister in the US said that the war declaration against the US did not represent the Thai people and asked that a broadcast program be set up to encourage the Thai people not to follow the government in war against the US. That was the beginning of Kenneth's Thai broadcasts.

Over a course of 13 years Kip Landon (Kenneth Landon Jr.) began recording stories from his parents, Margaret and Kenneth Landon, resulting in 95 hours of recordings. Beginning on July 20, 1976, recording finished in June, 1978. The project resumed again in 1982 for a few months. After a long break, the third recording period began in 1988 and concluded in March 1989.
