Siam: Margaret's Letter: First Date, Social Times in Wheaton

Margaret recalls her first date in college, with Alexander Gale. It was very trying, because Alex didn't know how to talk. She tells of social times at Wheaton, when her mother would invite students over to her house, or they would go over to the Hyatts's house, or they would go over to the McShanes' house. Both Margaret and Kenneth give other news from the mission field in their letters home. They tell about mutual support among missionaries in Thailand, especially in times of hardship.

Over a course of 13 years Kip Landon (Kenneth Landon Jr.) began recording stories from his parents, Margaret and Kenneth Landon, resulting in 95 hours of recordings. Beginning on July 20, 1976, recording finished in June, 1978. The project resumed again in 1982 for a few months. After a long break, the third recording period began in 1988 and concluded in March 1989.
