Kenneth on His Stop in Bangkok

From Rangoon, Kenneth went on over to Bangkok. There was an OSS mission in Bangkok, represented by James Thompson. On the Legation side, only one other American was there, having arrived the day before Kenneth to represent the USAF, Ted Grundahl. He was really a public relations fellow, there to publicize whatever was going on. Kenneth's job was to meet with the Thai officials and to inspect the American Legation to ensure that everything was in order for the arrival of our Chargé d'Affaires, Charles Yost, who was due a day or so later.

Over a course of 13 years Kip Landon (Kenneth Landon Jr.) began recording stories from his parents, Margaret and Kenneth Landon, resulting in 95 hours of recordings. Beginning on July 20, 1976, recording finished in June, 1978. The project resumed again in 1982 for a few months. After a long break, the third recording period began in 1988 and concluded in March 1989.
