Kenneth on Other SE Asia Scholars who Built on KL's Work

Kenneth tells of the scholars on Southeast Asia who built on his work on the region. A man named Skinner, a professor at Cornell, studied The Chinese in Thailand, and came out with his own book on the Chinese in Thailand (Chinese Society in Thailand, 1957). Then a man named Purcell, who was an advisor to the Chinese in the British service in Malaya, wrote a book on the Chinese in Malaya. Subsequently, Purcell decided to put together in one volume all the information available on the Chinese in Southeast Asia, and he included Kenneth's book in a shortened form, which he acknowledged doing (The Chinese in Southeast Asia, 1965).

Over a course of 13 years Kip Landon (Kenneth Landon Jr.) began recording stories from his parents, Margaret and Kenneth Landon, resulting in 95 hours of recordings. Beginning on July 20, 1976, recording finished in June, 1978. The project resumed again in 1982 for a few months. After a long break, the third recording period began in 1988 and concluded in March 1989.
