Childhood Nostalgia
Jonathan Blanchard spent his childhood on a farm in Rockingham, Vermont. Even though farming was often hard work, Blanchard loved nature. He built rock walls, cared for farm animals, harvested crops, and explored the woods around his homestead. During times of ill health or stress, Blanchard would seek out nature. He would often travel from the Midwest back to his native New England for respite.
