A Punch in the Face

Not all the accusations against Blanchard were unfounded. Jonathan did have a temper, and Chapman knew how to push Jonathan’s buttons. Jonathan had the misfortune to encounter Chapman on the train from Chicago back to Wheaton. Chapman insisted on spewing accusations at Jonathan. Jonathan’s response was to punch him in the face.
When Chapman brought him up on charges, Jonathan readily pleaded guilty and paid the three-dollar fine for his fisticuffs.
